SPB INSIDER

You always hear about it on Monday.

The party was Saturday. You found out Sunday night.

The konpa night was three miles from your house. The pop-up sold out by 2pm. Somebody's story had the flyer, but it expired before you opened Instagram.

It's not that the information doesn't exist. It's that it's scattered across a dozen IG accounts, three WhatsApp groups, a flyer taped up in a restaurant, and an Eventbrite listing you'd have to already know about to find. By the time it reaches you, it's a memory.

We asked you directly what the hardest part of staying connected to Haitian Boston is. The number one answer, by a wide margin: it's hard to find events in time.

So we built the fix.

What members get

01

The Insider Digest, every Wednesday

The next ten days in Haitian Boston: konpa nights, pop-ups, church events, festivals, the food and the family stuff with the venue, the time, the cover, and a straight answer about whether it's worth your Saturday. Plus a radar section for the big dates so Carnival weekend and gala season never sneak up on you again. Wednesday, so you can still make plans.

02

The Haitian Boston Guide, the day you join

The 2026-27 edition: where to eat, where the konpa actually lives, where to buy djon djon and epis, the annual calendar, where to start if you just moved here. Not a directory but an opinionated guide, with real takes on where to go and what to order. Every entry dated so you know it's current.

03

A perk network, growing

We're building a set of member perks at Haitian-owned businesses. Being honest with you: this part is early. A few are lined up, more are coming, and founding members get them as they land. If you're joining for the perks alone, wait a few months. If you're joining for the Digest and the Guide, the perks are a bonus.

Here's what lands in your inbox.

Some things I want to be straight about.

The free newsletter isn't going anywhere. This is not a paywall. Nothing you get today is being taken away, and nothing is moving behind a login. Sak Pase Boston stays free, forever. The Digest is a new thing, built for people who want it, not a toll on the thing you already have.

Nobody pays to be recommended. Not in the Guide, not in the Digest, not ever. If a spot is in there, it's because we'd send our own family. That's the whole product.

The perks are early. Said it above, saying it again, because I'd rather undersell it than have you feel misled in March.

Where the money goes. Straight into making SPB better: the time to find these events, verify them, and write them up, week after week. You're not tipping. You're funding Haitian media in Boston that answers to you and nobody else.

$79 for the year. Cancel anytime.

That's about a dollar fifty a week, still less than parking at one of these parties. Members get the weekly events digest with enough lead time to actually plan, the Haitian Boston Guide the day you join, and a growing perk network at Haitian-owned businesses. Thirty-day refund if it's not for you.

Frequently asked questions

Is the free newsletter going away?

No. Never. It stays exactly as it is. SPB Insider is additional.

How is this different from following event pages on Instagram?

Two things: it comes to you, and somebody checked. Instagram shows you what the algorithm surfaces the day it feels like it. The Digest arrives every Wednesday with the next ten days already gathered, verified, and filtered, including flyer and word-of-mouth events that never make it to Eventbrite.

What if I don't go out that much?

Plenty of members will use this for the food, the family events, the festivals, and the once-a-year things they'd hate to miss. It isn't only a nightlife product, though if konpa is your thing, you'll be very well fed.

Can I pay monthly?

Membership is annual only, $79 a year. Monthly may come later at the regular rate.

Can I give this as a gift?

Yes. Use the gift option at checkout.

What if I join and it's not for me?

Email me within 30 days and I'll refund you. No questions, no awkwardness.

Who's behind this?

Gustave, and Sak Pase Boston. Same person who's been in your inbox this whole time.

Kenbe la and stop missing things.
